Pros and cons of EdinBus app for iPhone and iPad
EdinBus app good for
Only positive Things about this app. Bus routes Shown offline, Too. Good for tourists
This App is well-though-out - really good work! I wish the App for my city would be as good and versatile!
However, I as far as I can tell the data is NOT up to date: The bus 100 to the airport does not stop in Lothian Road at “Rutland Street" anymore, but goes through Shandwick Pl.
This shows the routes on the roads too which is really helpful, what a handy app!
Some bad moments
Well, you can see which buses are arriving at your bus stop.. But if you want to know which bus you have to use to get somewhere else, the app doesnt help you..
I have absolutely no idea about the purpose of this app. Useless!
Could not locate target location, a well known point of interest.
How can it go this long and still not function properly? What is the team of developers doing? Get off your butt and fix the bloody app already!!! It seems as though it cant handle the amount of traffic which in the end makes it one step up from useless
I found this app after arriving in Edinburg on a visit and found it very useful. It took me a couple of days to find that I could display individual bus routes by clicking on the bus icon (perhaps a few words in the help section would be useful). I especially liked being to mark stations on the map by saving them and tracking my location on the map as I rode the bus so I knew how many stops before I wanted to get off. The single fare information is out of date due to a recent fare hike. I could also check from my hotel room when the next bus was scheduled so that I could be at the bus stop in time without a long wait at the stop. If it had one additional feature, giving me the possible routes between two stops that require a change of bus, I would give it 5 stars.
Does everything so well and smooth, iPhone 4. IMHO, much better then the Bus app from lothian busses.
Next release, can you add ability to plan routes?
